Chaguanas Chamber supports Cabinet reshuffle

Thursday, June 28 2012

THE Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CCIC), Central Trinidad’s largest and most representative business organisation, welcomes the reshuffle of Cabinet announced on Friday June 22, 2012, by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and urge that the revised ministries seize the opportunity to mark out new approaches to lifting the productivity and competitiveness of businesses large and small. Through the creation of the Ministry of National Diversity and Social Integration and Ministry of Communication, the CCIC applauds the Government’s aim in improving its efficiency. We envision opportunities for growth and development in Chaguanas, the Central business community and within our country.

CCIC reaffirms our commitment and stands ready to partner with all stakeholders in an effort to focus on the various issues that need addressing and look forward to developing effective relationships with all ministers and ministries in all its initiatives in achieving the common goal to aid the local economic development and the growth and sustainability of our national economy.

CCIC expresses thanks to Ministers Winston Dookeran, Stephen Cadiz and Dr Suruj Rambachan for their work with the CCIC and business sector across small businesses, finance, trade and foreign affairs in their previously held portfolios. We congratulate Minister Jack Warner and Minister Vasant Bharat on their new appointments and wish both of them well in there new roles. We wish all reassigned and new Members of Parliament continued success in their new portfolios.
