Chaguanas man gunned down in Aranguez

A 52-year-old Chaguanas man was shot and killed while sitting behind the wheel of his car this morning in Aranguez.

Police said Shiraz Ali, was sitting in his white Nissan Tiida along Boundary Road, at around 6.09 am when another car drove past him and a man in the front passenger seat shot him several times.

He died at the scene.

Residents heard the gunshots and called the police, who went to the scene with a district medical officer.

Police said Ali is from Edinburgh 500 and his brother owned a poultry shop in Aranguez.

Investigators are viewing CCTV footage of the shooting.
