Be cautious about immigration

THE EDITOR: The issue with the Venezuelan's flocking to Trinidad is not that we do not want to help. The issue is, "can we handle it"?

You can't compare Trinidad with the US, Canada, UK and other well-developed world-class countries that are functioning very well. I think that those bigger nations can handle immigrants a lot better than we can.

With an out-of-control and escalating crime problem and a host of other issues, the authorities in TT need to be very careful who they are allowing into the country at this critical and dangerous time. We need to err on the side of caution.
