Police shoot at pit bull

Toco police who responded to reports of a dog attacking residents along the Toco Main Road shot at it when they themselves were attacked by the dog last night.

They said they received a complaint at around 7.05 pm from a police sergeant who lived in the area that a pit bull attacked him and his children in their yard earlier that day. He was able to frighten it away using a piece of metal.

As the officers took the report and were ready to leave, they saw the dog approaching them from some nearby bushes. It began to bark.

One officer took out his gun and fired a shot at the dog, which ran away unharmed.
