Prisoner threatens to 'call a shot' on prison officers

A 27-year-old prison inmate reportedly threatened to kill two prison officers and refused to go back into his cell at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison in Arouca yesterday.

Newsday understands the two prison officers, aged 28 and 43, tried to put the man in his cell at around 9.40 am but he refused to enter.

The inmate, who is serving a sentence for rape and robbery in 2011, turned to them and said, "Officer to officer, I doh care what yuh saying. I go kill alyuh."

He also told threatened to "call a shot this evening," on them.

Police are making inquiries.
