Phoenix whip Hibiscus in T10

PHOENIX whipped Hibiscus by five wickets in a Premiership division game, as the TT Women Cricket Association T10 tournament was held recently at the National Cricket Centre, Couva.

Hibiscus posted a score of 65 runs for five wickets in their allotted 10 overs, with Rosalie Dolabaille unbeaten on 28. Leann Kirby chipped in with 13. April Ramoutar got 2/17 and Samantha Bissoon 1/14 for Phoenix.

In their run-chase, Player-of-the-Match Bissoon made 25 not out and national player Britney Cooper made 16 as Phoenix responded with 66/4 off the final ball. Alice Collins claimed 2/7 for Hibiscus.

In the earlier game of the double-header, UWI Lionesses registered a five-wicket win over Achievers in the Championship division.

Achievers were restricted to 47/9 with Atiya Lara topscoring with 18.

Nadra Dwarika-Baptiste (2/9) and Talia Baksh (2/10) were the major wicket-takers for UWI Lionesses.

Alliyah Williams was adjudged as the Player-of-the-Match, as her unbeaten innings of 27 guided UWI Lionesses to 48/5 in reply, with nine balls to spare. Hema Mahabir took 3/9 for Achievers.
