MANAGER of the Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) Jeffrey Guillen has called for the resignation of members of the National League committee for "spoiling the image of the TTCB", after the representatives' lawsuit against the TT Cricket Board (TTCB) was defeated in the High Court yesterday.

But Ramnarine, in an immediate response, scoffed at the request by Guillen.

"Who is Mr Guillen representing? I wouldn't wish to respond to Mr Guillen. I don't think it is worthy of a response," he said.

Guillen, who followed TTCB president Azim Bassarath outside of the Hall of Justice after the court's ruling, suggested the committee acted unilaterally and without a mandate. The elected National League representatives comprise Dinanath Ramnarine, Daren Ganga, Andre Lawrence, Clint Pamphille and Giles Antoine.

"...I'm calling on Mr Ramnarine and Mr Ganga and the other representatives of the National League to resign their positions forthwith. They never called a meeting of the National League to get a mandate to take the board to court," he said.

The lawsuit was filed by the National League representatives prior to the TTCB elections scheduled for October 2016. The representatives, in the lawsuit, claimed the election process governing the board was unfair, undemocratic and illegal.

"I think there are other ways we could handle situations like this without resorting to the court," Guillen said.

He added, "They've also wasted two years of our time and effort and they have spoiled the image of the TTCB, and good or bad as they may be, this is not the way to conduct business.

"So I want to emphasize that they do the honourable thing and resign... They've took that position (court action) for their own personal reasons and their own personal gains. I hope now that the board can rebuild itself, look at the constitution, right? The constitution does need some sort of revision but do it in an amicable and democratic manner."

Ramnarine did respond to Guillen's assertion that they acted without a mandate, saying: "Unlike the process (elsewhere), we were duly elected. The six national reps who took this matter were duly elected. We put ourselves up and the clubs elected us. What else do we need to do?" Ramnarine asked.
