Ganja in juice packs seized at MSP

A quantity of marijuana stashed in ten one-litre Orchard juice cartons was found in an unused locker at the prison officers’ dormitory at the Maximum Security Prison on Sunday.

No one has been arrested.

Around 10.30 am on Sunday a prison officer was in the locker area when he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the unused locker and found the cartons stashed with marijuana.

He reported it to senior officers, who called the Arouca police.

The drugs were seized and an internal investigation mounted to find out how the drugs entered the prison.
