Cleve Calderon, founder of Cleve’s One Stop Music Shop, who died last Friday at 72, will be buried tomorrow in Arima, after a funeral at Santa Rosa RC Church, Woodford Street, Arima, starting at 11 am.

At the service, Calderon will be eulogised by his granddaughter Cylene Bleasdelle and a special tribute will be paid to him by entertainer Knolly V Charles.

The former DJ Nutcracker, Calderon opened his record shop in 1994 on Frederick Street in Port of Spain. It became very popular with both local and international DJs and music fans over the years.

Often described as a music encyclopaedia, Calderon never disappointed his customers. All they had to do was hum a bit of the song they wanted and Calderon would rattle off the name of the song, what year it was released and who was its author. If he didn’t have the record requested, he went out of his way to source it for customers.

Calderon leaves to mourn his 91-year-old mother Phyllis, wife of 44 years Ruby, daughters Lisa, Kerry and Krisann, grandchildren Cylene, Jymel and Samara, and sons-in-law Wayne Bleasdelle and Donaldson Cedeno.

He will be buried at the Santa Rosa RC Cemetery on King Street, Arima.
