Woman killed in crash

A 64-YEAR-OLD Tacarigua woman died on Sunday at the Arima District Hospital after her car collided with another car driven by an off-duty police officer near the Priority Bus Route (PBR) at Dinsley Junction.

Monica Gilbert was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The policeman was taken to the Eric Williams Sciences Complex, where he was warded. At 4.30 am on Sunday Gilbert was driving her Tiida at theDinsley intersection when she collided with a Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 28-year-old policeman assigned to the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. Eyewitnesses helped and both were taken to hospital by ambulance.
