Tobago ordealfinally over

THE EDITOR: I congratulate the Port Authority for finally having a boat that, according to them, “has completed all sea trials and testings and has received all the necessary certifications by the surveyors.”

It is unfortunate that the T&T Spirit returned to service after the Easter season but it is surely a case of better late than never. We who travel regularly between Tobago and Trinidad are grateful that this gap is closed and we can all move on and move forward.

Apparently the boat was also upgraded for the comfort of passengers. I hope all who use the ferry remember how badly affected we were without it and do our best to keep it clean and in good condition.

Kudos are also in order for the Minister of Works and Transport. It is my understanding that he and his usual entourage were on trial sailing of the Spirit over the weekend to ensure all was well.

It is always a delight to see a minister in this current administration not forgetting from where they came. So Mr Minister, your effort is commended. The nightmare is now finally behind us.
