TSTT retail stores ready for customers; Massy renamed Amplia

State telecoms company, TSTT, says even though it has closed its nine retail outlets, it has partnered with over 85 dealers who are now equipped to provide the full suite of services to customers. Customers who are still experiencing difficulties probably went when the system was being updated or otherwise down for maintenance, a spokesman said.

TSTT closed its retail outlets last month in an attempt to cut costs and streamline services for greater operational efficiency, the company had said then.

The spokesman noted that lotto vendors and portals at Massy Stores were only equipped to receive bill payments, but any facility branded as bmobile will be able to do all customer transactions, including residential and mobile bill payments, connections and other queries. A list of bmobile partner locations are on the company’s website.

The company has also renamed its recent Massy Communications acquisition to Amplia Communications Ltd.

According to its website, Amplia is a “wholly-owned subsidiary” of TSTT. Its operations remain independent and unchanged, as per the sale agreement, but it is marketed under the bmobile brand.

The reason for the name change, Newsday was told, was for copyright reasons, since “Massy Communications” is owned by the Massy Group. TSTT acquired Massy for $215 million in a deal that was finalised last August.
