Olympic triathlete Jason Wilson of Barbados will be in Trinidad this weekend to share his knowledge at triathlon clinics hosted by XO Multi-Sport Club. The clinics have been approved by the Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Federation and have been made possible through the benevolence of Dairy Dairy, Grace Kennedy and Gatorade.

Wilson, the first person from the English-speaking Caribbean to compete in triathlon at the Olympic Games, will spearhead the clinics which start at 6am on Saturday in Chaguaramas with the senior triathletes. On Sunday from 6am-8am, the junior triathletes’ clinic will begin at the Diego Martin Highway, and from 9am-11am the Juniors and Seniors will be at the Marlins Swimming Pool. Wilson has competed as a professional triathlete for just over six years and boasts a wealth of experience having raced in the World Championships, Pan American, Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

This weekend’s clinics will be attended by most of the country’s top junior and senior triathletes. Junior CARIFTA triathlon championships gold medallist Luke Ferreira will be at the clinic. Among the seniors attending are national champions Jason Costelloe and Jenna Ross who will be representing Team TTO in the Commonwealth Games next year. Some of the other senior triathletes in attendance include CARIFTA standouts Rachael Grosberg, Ayomide Gilbert-Semper and Jonathan Thompson.
