Marabella woman, 68, found drowned

THE body of a 68-year-old woman was found in the Guaracara River, Marabella, on Thursday afternoon. She had dementia and was reported missing by her family on Wednesday.

Relatives said Eudora Solomon, who lived at Washington Street, Marabella, went missing at around 4 am.

Investigators believed she wandered off and fell into the river less than 200 feet from the house and began searching it.

The joint effort included staff from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management, fire service, Coast Guard, the NGO Search and Rescue, and volunteers. They used drones inan aerial search.Divisional fire officer Rampersad of the Mon Repos fire station (south headquarters) supervised the operation.

On Thursday around 12 pm, police told Newsday Solomon's body had been found and was about to be retrieved.
