PNM has lost touch with reality

THE EDITOR: For years in opposition and now in government for two and a half years, the PNM has been screaming from every street corner how important an appointed commissioner of police is to effectively winning the war against crime.

What could possibly have warped the collective mind of the PNM when it voted to approve a deputy commissioner but rejected the duly selected candidate for commissioner?

Did it even realise that it has again created a situation of having to work with an acting commissioner? Or was that the intention?

The MPs can twist and turn and manipulate words all they want, but it seems the PNM wants to have a commissioner it can control.

What the actions of the Government now tells me is that the PNM has completely lost touch with reality.

This is all about control. But what about the population? What about people? Does that even matter to the Government?
