Remove derelicts

THE EDITOR: Residents of Santa Rosa Heights, Arima, are grateful for the support of the Pinto Police Post officers where security is concerned.

However, we are concerned about the number of derelict vehicles on the southern side of the post, those vehicles having been involved in road accidents.

They are not only an eyesore but a health threat as they are breeding grounds for mosquitoes that spread the dreaded diseases of malaria, dengue etc.

The onus may be on the owners of the vehicles to have them removed after the completion of investigations, but the police must insist that they remove them. Residents will be grateful if this is done urgently.
