Ramadharsingh Kamla’s choice?

THE EDITOR: I was happy to see Kamla Persad-Bissessar at the birthday of a friend on Saturday night.

Indeed Hugh had many distinguished guests at his 50th birthday party including Brian Lara, Wendy Fitzwilliam and Russell Latapy.

The UNC members present were quite happy to have their photos taken with the celebrities as they all had a grand time.

The presence of the former prime minister, who incidentally celebrated her 66th birthday the next day, reminded me of her earlier statements when she said young people are the future of the party.

She was surrounded that night by Barry Padarath, Khadijah Ameen and Anita Haynes, to name a few, but they lack the required leadership skills.

I believe Persad-Bissessar already has a successor in mind in the person is Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh.

Persad-Bissessar resurrected his political career when she appointed him chairman of the Siparia Regional Corporation and Ramadharsingh has wasted no time in displaying his uncanny passion for the spotlight. He is well qualified as a vet and a lawyer and most importantly has youth on his side.

Persad-Bissessar has done well to apparently chose Ramadharsingh to be the next candidate for Siparia and the next prime minister of TT.

The future belongs to the youths and Persad-Bissessar should be celebrated for her long service to the UNC.
