Murder charge against woman

THE common-law wife of Dexter Hospedales, 33, will appear in the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with his murder.

Yesterday police were advised, through the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, to charge her. PC Kyrn Lewis, a legal officer at Homicide Bureau (Region III) had sought advice on how to proceed with the case. He had also submitted a file compiled by investigators.

Someone stabbed Hospedales once in the left side of the chest while at his rented apartment at Boy Cato Road, Las Lomas on March 21.

He was originally from Arima. Initial reports are Hospedales and the suspect got into an altercation during which an unknown man ran into the house and stabbed him then escaped in a vehicle.

Hospedales was taken to the Las Lomas health centre where he died.
