Tobagonianshave Tobagounder siege

THE EDITOR: My unsolicited and personal view is that Tobago is under siege by Tobagonians.

The most cynical and conspiracy-theorist side of my mind says that it can be alleged that Tobagonians are suffering from a heavy political tabanca. The tabanca is exacerbated by the Super Fast Galicia sailing off into the sunset.

With this latest failure of the water taxi sailing home from Tobago to Trinidad one can safely say there is no such thing as coincidence.

The hand-to-hand political combat for the two Tobago electoral seats has just started.

Choosing to self-destruct and allegedly sabotage the sea bridge is like drinking political Kool-Aid, akin to Jonestown in the bushes of Guyana. There will be no winners, only losers.

When will Tobagonians realise they cannot play “mammy spoil child” forever and stop the sanctimonious self-harming?

There is no empathy to be expected once innocent citizens’ lives are now being put at risk. Blaming the Government and firing the Minister of Transport will get no one anywhere.

Tobago’s political button appears to be stuck in self-destruct mode.
