Two people held after Las Lomas murder

UPDATE:

TWO people, a man and a woman, were up to late yesterday being questioned in relation to the stabbing death of 33-year-old Dexter Hospedales at his home in Las Lomas.

Police sources told Newsday at about 10.30 am, Hospedales and a female relative got into an argument which quickly turned physical while at Hospedales’ Boy Cato Road, Las Lomas No 1 home.

A man ran into the house shortly after the altercation broke out and, during the commotion, Hospedales was stabbed several times. The man was seen by neighbours leaving the house and fleeing the scene in a car. Hospedales was taken to the Las Lomas Health Centre where he died.

Relatives told Newsday that the man had been stabbed by the woman a little over a year ago, and they had been in a volatile and abusive relationship for a number of years.

The murder toll for the year now stands at 126.

A 33-year-old man has died after being stabbed by a relative at his home in Las Lomas.

Newsday understands at about 10.30 am on Wednesday, Dexter Hospedales got into an altercation with a female relative. During the altercation an unknown man burst in and stabbed Hospedales numerous times, before escaping in a vehicle.

Hospedales was taken to Las Lomas Health Centre, but died of his wounds.
