Bail for 2 women in drug store fight

UPDATE:

TWO women were each granted $25,000 bail with a surety by a San Fernando magistrate before whom they appeared on Monday charged with maliciously wounding another woman.

Magistrate Alicia Chankar, in the Sixth Court, granted bail to Kadeesha Walker, 21, and Aliyah Samuel, 22, both of Pleasantville who pleaded not guilty to maliciously wounding Fayola Clarke, 24, at Bartlett Drugs Ltd at High Street, San Fernando, last Friday. PC Noel of the San Fernando Police Station laid the charge.

Attorney Ainsley Lucky represented the women who, he said, are unemployed. He referred to his clients as “youngsters” who are innocent until proven guilty. The magistrate asked Walker if she knew Clarke and she said no. When Chankar asked Samuel the same question, she said yes. Clarke was absent from the hearing.

Before adjourning the case to April 10, the magistrate ordered the accused women to have no communication whatsoever with Clarke.
