Schoolgirl abducted, gang raped

A 14-YEAR-OLD year-old school girl was allegedly abducted while on her way to classes on Tuesday afternoon and taken to a galvanise shack at Covigne Road where she was allegedly sexually assaulted by three teenagers.

The suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after they were pointed out by the victim.

The victim accompanied by her mother went to the Western Police Station on Tuesday and informed Woman Police Constable Charles of the incident. She was taken to a District Medical Officer where a medical report was obtained. The teen later identified the suspects who were arrested at their respective homes,

However when interviewed by police the suspects claimed that the schoolgirl had consented to having sex with the three of them. Up until yesterday the suspects remained in custody and investigations are continuing.

In an unrelated incident a 17-year-old girl who is married to a 22-year-old reported to police in the Western Division that she was home on Wednesday when a 40-year-old landlord held her down and committed grievous sexual assault on her.

The landlord who has a six-year-old daughter was detained and is assisting officers of the Child Protection Unit in their investigation.
