Too good to be true?

THE EDITOR: Recently, the Prime Minister was waxing warm about the new ferry on order and how well it will serve the sea bridge. One of his ministers went so far as to refer to the purchase of this ferry, at US$17 million, as a steal of a deal. Now, those of us with much life experience in purchasing anything learn one particular hard and fast rule, which is: “If it seems too good to be true, run as fast as you can in the other direction.”

Having said that, I hope the vessel fulfils its mandate with flying colours, bringing much relief to all who live in and patronise the wonderful island of Tobago.
