Professionals in ambulance unit

THE EDITOR: I publicly commend the emergency ambulance service for its outstanding performance in responding to a call on January 20 at 7.09 am when a close relative suffered a stroke. Within 35 minutes an ambulance arrived at our home in Cunupia from Port of Spain. After initial triaging the relative was taken to the Mt Hope Hospital for treatment.

The two paramedics who came with the ambulance were very competent and professional. Also, the dispatcher who took the call was extremely professional and helpful.

At a time when our health service is being criticised, the professionalism and competence of the men and women of the ambulance unit was certainly a significant redeeming factor.
