Max leaves his mark

THE EDITOR: From all the accolades in the last week for former President George Maxwell Richards it is clear he left his mark on the country.

Without the shadow of a doubt, Max touched the lives of thousands of people who openly shared their sentiments about this son of the soil.

It is clear this statesman was a people person who saw it as no big thing to mix with everyone.

What was amazing to me are the many areas he was involved in as president for two terms, serving with humility. You name it, Max was there — education, country affairs, culture, charity, religion, sport, to name a few.

He may be gone but I am sure he will live on in the hearts of many.

To his wife, children, other family members and friends, may God give you the strength in this time of grief.

No one can truly know what you’re feeling but my prayers are with you.
