Insurance frustration

THE EDITOR: Please permit me a space in your newspaper to highlight something that has me confused. Why do some insurance companies do this to poor people?

I lost my son in a vehicular accident last June. That was heartbreaking for my family and I.

My son worked at a well-established security company and was contributing monies to the company’s group insurance plan. Upon his death, I was instructed to come to the head office in Macoya and fill out the forms, since I was the beneficiary. I am now approaching the seventh month and they are still saying the matter is under review. I have some of his unfinished business to conduct and all the reports from the police were sent in. The insurance company could not give me an answer. Recently, they have stopped answering my calls.
