Schoolboy’s funeral today

The funeral for Isaac Simmons, 15, who was killed last week Thursday in a shootout with police duing a robbery in Marabella, will take place today at Guides Funeral Home, Coffee Street in San Fernando.

Simmons, a Form Three student of Carapichaima East Secondary School, was one of three suspects in the robbery at the home of a bank manager at Moze Drive, Gopaul Lands, Marabella. PC Anand Ram, 27, was shot when police responded. He has since been discharged from hospital. One of those arested after the incident, a 16-year-old, was charged with robbery and appeared in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where he was granted $30,000 bail.
