Westmoorings bandits escape by boat

Bandits escaped by boat on Tuesday after robbing a house at Westmoorings.

Police public information officer acting ASP Michael Jackman yesterday said the home of a well-known business owner in West Mall was robbed on Tuesday.

One of the men had a gun.

In a brief interview yesterday, Jackman said at about 11.30 am on Tuesday, a 61-year-old man was cleaning at the home of his employer at Windy Drive, Westmoorings, when he was confronted by two male intruders.

“One of the men pointed the weapon at the victim and ordered him to the bathroom area and locked him inside. After a short while the victim checked to see whether the men had left, and discovered a metal safe containing items of jewelry belonging to his employer missing,” Jackman said.

He said a report was made to the Four Roads police, who are investigating.
