Kerry, Shamsi in RBC U-14 final

Kyle Kerry will meet Luca Shamsi in the Boys Under-14 Singles final today as the RBC Junior Tennis Tournament attempts to wind up at the Trinidad Country Club, Maraval.

Rain continued to wreak havoc with the schedule yesterday but organisers are hoping for favourable weather to complete the tournament today. Yesterday, Kerry needed just two sets to defeat Sebastian Sylvester 4-1, 4-0 in semi-final action and book his place in the title match. Shamsi was also in full control against Ethan Wong, prevailing 4-2, 4-0 in the other semi.

Adele Biggs won the Girls Under-10 Novices title after a tense victory over Kate Broughton in the final. The final went to tie-breaks with Biggs edging her rival 6-5 (5) for the crown. Madeleine D’arcy booked a meeting with Inara Chin Lee in the Girls Under-10 final after a comfortable win over Eva Pasea yesterday. D’Arcy dropped just two games in a 4-2, 4-0 result over Pasea, while Inara got past sibling Abigail Chin Lee 4-2, 4-2, in the other semifinal.

In Girls Under-18 round robin action, Kimberly Sabga had a flawless 6-0, 6-0 result over Kadiya Roberts, while Anya King beat Osenyonye Nwokolo 6-1, 6-1.
