Appoint an outsider CoP

THE EDITOR: It would now appear that some kind of controversy is taking place behind closed doors with regards to appointing a new police commissioner which was supposed to take place in November.

Maybe the message has at last sunk in that we do not have the calibre of citizens here to undertake such responsibility that would make any difference whatsoever to our crime scenario.

We need an outsider who has the experience and know how of dealing with hardened criminals. Not only that, he must be supported by a team of outside policemen and must be given full control of TTPS without any strings attached or internal interference from politicians. We certainly do not need any clone effect by engaging another local citizen to this position.
