The Guardian Group has presented 100 percent of its Securing Hope for those in Need (SHINE) 5K and 10K Charity Walk and Run race proceeds to 25 charities.

Among those who received a portion of the $369,000 from SHINE were the Bridge of Hope home in Sangre Grande, the Express Children’s Fund, the Just Because Foundation, the Islamic Home for Children in Gasparillo and the Rainbow Rescue in Maraval.

The SHINE 5k and 10K Charity Walk and Run held on November 25 at the Nelson Mandela Park, St Clair. The charity event is Guardian Group’s flagship charity fund raiser in TT and attracted approximately 4,600 runners and walkers.

The company said through this event, it “sought to engage both the serious athletes and leisure walkers/runners with an objective of making a meaningful contribution to children’s charities. The event also raised public awareness of health and wellness which is central to Guardian Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility.” SHINE 2018 will take place on November 24.
