Woman robbed in home invasion

Two bandits, one armed with a cutlass, stormed a house in Princes Town on Thursday night and robbed a woman of alcoholic beverages and electronic items.

According to a police report, at about 9.30 pm, Asha Lendore, 30, was in the gallery of her home at Phase One, Fairfield Housing Development, when two men accosted her.

They robbed Lendore of tools, jewellery and cash and then ran away.

PCs Ramkissoon and Mitchell of the Princes Town Police Station responded but did not catch the bandits.

In an unrelated incident, Princes Town police recovered a vehicle in Piparo minutes after hearing it had been stolen. At about 4.15 am on Friday, WPC Stoute and PC Noel responded to the report of the theft and spotted the AD wagon at Dindial Road, Piparo.

Police intercepted it, but two men jumped out of the moving van which hit the front of the police vehicle causing minor damage. The two men escaped by running into the bush.

According to the police report, the vehicle was stolen from a doubles vendor who was preparing to leave his home.
