UTT, Parkites in exciting 3-3 draw

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and Queen’s Park battled to a 3-3 draw on Tuesday, in a rescheduled Round 21 League One match, in the TT Super League.

At the O’Meara Campus ground in Arima, UTT raced to a 2-0 lead with goals from Moses Jaikaran, in the 62nd minute, and Kevaughn Connell in the 77th.

Kevaughn John pulled one back for the Parkites in the 80th but, UTT regained their two-goal advantage through Garvin Samaroo in the 82nd.

However, there was a final twist to the tail as the Parkites stormed back in the dying minutes, with strikes from Devon Modeste (86th) and Chad De Freitas (90th).

Today, Guaya United will have an opportunity to leapfrog FC Santa Rosa and reclaim the top spot in the points standings when they meet 1976 Phoenix FC, in another rescheduled encounter, at the Canaan/Bon Accord Recreation Ground, from 6 pm.

This game was originally slated for Sunday but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The final round of action, Round 22, will be contested this Sunday, with Guaya United and FC Santa Rosa vying to be crowned as the 2017 League winners.
