The TT Youth Philharmonic (TTYP) under the guidance of music director Kenneth Listhrop will return to the National Academy of the Performing Arts (Napa) to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with a concert titled Christmas: Wonder of His Glorious Majesty.

Also on the cast are the children’s choir Voices of The University School (VOUS) and TTYP’s resident chorale, the Euangelion Singers and band.

The concert on December 9 and 10, at 7.30 pm 5.30 pm respectively will feature Christmas classics by the London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Andrea Bocelli, and contemporary gospel, as well as a bit of symphonic parang. This repertoire is arranged and transcribed by Listhrop.

TTYP holds year-round school and community programmes at venues which include St George’s College, Barataria; Bishop Anstey High School East/Trinity College East, Trincity; the University School, St Augustine; St Theresa’s Girls’ RC Primary School, Woodbrook and the Arima West Government Primary School.

The TTYP is inviting music teachers and their students, all primary and secondary schools, churches and the public to support the young people as they build their own orchestral tradition, said a media release.

DVDs of past performances including Timeless Classics – Love Unlimited, Tribute to Barry White (1944-2003) and Hearts Afire –Tribute to Maurice White (1941-2016) will be on sale.
