Harvard and Royalians won the men’s senior and women’s senior division respectively, when the second and final day of the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Football Union Harvard Heineken Rugby Sevens Festival ended yesterday at St Mary’s College Ground in St Clair.

Unlike the sunny conditions on Saturday’s opening day, the teams battled in the rain for supremacy yesterday afternoon.

In the men’s division final, Harvard defeated Exiles 29-5 in a one-sided match. In a battle for third place, Caribs got past a combined UWI/Tobago XI 20-5 to claim bronze. Royalians ended fifth, followed by Rainbow, Northern and Defence Force.

The women’s round robin tournament featured five teams. Royalians outlasted Police in a virtual final 17-12 to lift the crown. Harvard ended third, followed by Caribs and Rainbow.

In the Under-17 boys category, Queen’s Royal College (QRC) edged Fatima College 19-15 to prevail as champions. The Under-14 boys final saw Fatima and St James Secondary battling for the title. Fatima were victorious with a 12-7 result over their Port of Spain neighbours.

On the opening day, Exiles won the Under-19 boys title, Rainbow copped the Under-19 girls crown and Holy Name Convent won the school girls title.
