Granny Luces celebrates 90th birthday

GRANNY LUCES (back row, centre) celebrates her 90th birthday with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at a party yesterday at Roslyn Hall, Auzonville Road, Tunapuna.

Granny Luces celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family, friends and well wishers at Roslyn Hall in Tunapuna, yesterday. Dressed in red and black to reflect her TT spirit, Granny Luces danced, ate and reminisced about her life as a long distance runner.

Granny’s friends and family came from all over Trinidad, while her daughter Merle came from Sacramento, California for the occasion. Luces has 10 children, 33 grand children and 18 great grandchildren.

The function also featured speeches, poems and songs from family members and friends.
