Senior Cop loses gun at Police Admin Building

The vehicle belonging to Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Radcliffe Boxhill, was broken into on Tuesday, and his police issued pistol was stolen.

The senior officer reported to officers of the Central Police Station on Tuesday that he parked his car in the basement of the Police Administration Building around 10 am and returned around 5 pm.

He said, on his return to his vehicle, he discovered that his vehicle appeared to have been broken into and his firearm was missing.

Investigators along with fingerprint experts carried out inquiries but the weapon was not found. Sources revealed that only police officers as well as civilian staff are allowed to park at the basement of the Police Administration Building and if the officer’s vehicle was tampered with, it could have only been someone with access to the basement.

Up until yesterday the officer’s gun remained unaccounted for.
