Man killed in Morvant

A 35-year-old man was shot dead at his home in Morvant yesterday. Kerwin Baptiste, who was an employee of the Ministry of Works and Transport was at his Cipriani Avenue home at about 12.15 pm, with his brother in another room, when the brother heard gunshots.

The brother checked and found Baptiste dead in one of the rooms. Newsday was told that people saw two men fleeing the scene shortly after the gunshots were heard. Police have not established a motive behind the killing.

Baptiste’s body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for autopsy. No motive has been established and no arrest made. Morvant police are continuing investigations.
