Tobago schoolgirl kidnapped, raped

Two men were arrested after their car crashed shortly after they kidnapped and raped a teenaged girl who entered what she thought was a taxi to be taken to school yesterday.

Police said the girl boarded a car in Roxborough to travel to Scarborough where her school is located but the driver changed route. Two other men were also in the car. They later took turns raping the teen.

While the car was proceeding along a road in Bloody Bay, the driver crashed the vehicle. The child got out and screamed for help which alerted a group of URP workers who ran to her. While one of the men managed to escape, the URP workers and villagers were able to grab the other two while a report was made to police.

The teen was taken to hospital for a medical examination and treatment. The two men remain in custody which the search continues for the third suspect.
