In light of a break-in at Hillview College, Tunapuna, on Monday, in which security cameras and a DVR machine were stolen, the Presbyterian Secondary Schools Board has expressed concern over the incident and has pledged to continue collaborating with the Ministry of Education to address safety and security at the college, according to a release issued yesterday.

The release said the incident was deeply troubling, citing Hillview’s contribution to the holistic development of the community and promised swift action.

“The board of management has been in touch with the schools’ administrators and will be conducting site visits at both institutions and collaborating with the Ministry of Education personnel and other stakeholders in order to lend support and restore normalcy at these schools. The principals’ reports, as well as the general issue of security will also be addressed.”

The release also said the damage caused by a fire on Tuesday at the Iere High School in Siparia was being assessed by the relevant authorities.
