A High Court judge ruled yesterday that the suspension of Prison Officers Association president Ceron Richards should be lifted and all investigations into the circumstances prompting his suspension be squashed.

Richards appeared before Justice Rahim in the San Fernando High Court in the case of Richards v Prison Service Commission. Rahim deemed the suspension illegal and in breach of the procedures of natural justice and fairness.

On March 11 thieves broke into Richards’ home on Don Miguel Road, and stole his licensed 9 mm pistol, two magazines and several rounds of ammunition. All the items were locked in a safe.
