JP robbed of $25,000

A justice of the peace escaped unhurt after being accosted by a gunman, but was robbed of $25,000.

Reports reveal that around 11.30 am on Thursday, Daniel Baboolal was on his way to the St Augustine Branch of Scotiabank but decided to return to his car to retrieve a document.

As he approached the car, he felt something held against his back by a man who told him to hand over the bag containing the money.

As the gunman ran off with the cash, Baboolal raised an alarm and Tunapuna police responded. They searched for the bandit but did not find him.

WPC Ashby is continuing inquiries.
