Curtis Humphreys won the Solo Crusaders “Last Man Standing” table tennis tournament at the PowerGen Sports Club in Port of Spain on Thursday night. In the final, Humphreys, of WASA Table Tennis Club, beat Carenage Blasters player Aaron Wilson 13-11. Humphreys received $1,000.

The tournament, the brainchild of Crusaders’ operations committee chairman Kevin Lewis, was a fund-raiser for Dennis La Rose, who is expected to represent Trinidad and Tobago at next month’s US Para Open Table Tennis Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The list of participating players in the Solo “Last Man” included former Caribbean junior champion Kenwin Small, TT number one-ranked Yuvraaj Dookram, and former national men’s singles champion Reeza Burke.

An in-house tournament for members of La Rose’s Blasters Coaching Academy, “Last Boy Standing”, was also staged on Thursday. In the championship match, Luc O’Young defeated Finn Bos 13-11.

Lewis served as the Tournament Director on Thursday, and was assisted by TT Table Tennis Association (TTTTA) secretary Aleena Edwards.
