Police probe shootings

A 15-year-old boy was shot in Dump Road, Arima on Friday last. According to police, the boy was dropped off by unknown people at the Arima Health Facility. He remains warded in critical condition.

Also in the Northern Division, an unidentified woman was shot in Arouca. Police say her condition is not serious but no other details were provided. In other crime news, one man was arrested during an exercise in San Juan on Friday.

According to police, between 4 pm and 7 pm, a stop-and-search exercise was conducted by members of the North Eastern Division CID and spearheaded by Insp James and supervised by Sgt Davidson.

A 32-year-old San Juan man was arrested after being held with a Luger nine-millimetre calibre pistol, a magazine with seven rounds of ammunition and 50 plastic packets of marijuana weighing 72.6 grammes.
