House shot at, couple escape unharmed

A Gasparillo couple escaped death on Sunday night when gunmen opened fire at a house causing damage to the property.

Police said, at about 8.30 pm a 24-year-old mason and his girlfriend were at home at Hillview Drive, Morne Wash, when residents heard gunshots.

The couple took cover in the house as bullets smashed window panes and concrete walls.

After a few minutes, the gunshots subsided and residents contacted police. No one was wounded.

PCs Guerrero, Lara, Ramcharan and Blake of the Gasparillo Police Station, went to the scene.

They are yet to establish a motive for the shooting and investigations are continuing.
