Marijuana found in car parts

Port police arrested two men on Monday afternoon after 9.85 pounds of “Cush” marijuana was found hidden in car parts destined for sale in Tobago. Officers Joseph, Sookoo, Sinanan and the Port Police Task Force had searched the men’s white panel van as the alleged offenders prepared to board the inter-island ferry at the Port of Port of Spain.

The drugs were found wrapped in plastic and hidden inside foreign-used car doors.

The police were also granted warrants to search the men’s Diego Martin residences, but found no other contraband.

The men were charged with possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking and were scheduled to appear before a Port of Spain magistrate on Tuesday.
