Man in court for double murder

CHARGED: Kurt Scott charged for the murders of Dominican national Chriss Brewster and her landlord Ferdinand Felix.

A St Joseph man has appeared before a Tunapuna magistrate charged with the murders of Dominican mother of two Chriss Brewster and her landlord Ferdinand Felix.

Handyman Kurt Scott, 32, of Freeman Road, St Joseph, appeared before magistrate Gail Gonzales in the second court yesterday to answer the charges. Brewster and Felix were killed on October 30.

The matter was adjourned to November 22.

Felix, 84, of Wellington Street, St Joseph and 29-year-old Brewster, a seamstress, were found dead in separate rooms of the building in which they lived after a fire destroyed the property.

Scott was charged by Cpl Fareed Mohammed of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (Region II) on Tuesday after advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC.
