Cocorite man shot dead at home

A 36-year-old man of Harding Place, Cocorite, died at the Port of Spain General Hospital early yesterday, after being shot several times at his home.

Kareem Ifill was in the living room at about 1.30 am yesterday, when three men with guns broke a window and shot him several times.

After the killers fled the scene, Ifill was taken to the St James infirmary and transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he died at about 4 am.

Police said yesterday, Ifill was not known to them but they knew of a close relative who was linked to a gang in the Western Division. They believe Ifill was killed to send a message to that relative. Ifill’s killing pushed to the murder toll to 415 for the year thus far.
