WASA’s Pt Lisas plant operational

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has reported that planned repair works at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant have been completed. But the plant is to be shut down again. In a release yesterday, WASA said the Desalcott-owned and operated plant returned to full operation at 3 pm on Saturday and pipe-borne water supply schedules should be normalised within 36 hours.

However, it said, “It should be noted that Desalcott has advised the authority that a further planned shutdown will be required due to additional maintenance works needed to be performed on the desalination plant. The authority will communicate with customers regarding the proposed date and mitigation measures to be undertaken, as the time for these planned works approaches.”

For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.

WASA thanked customers for their patience and understanding during the recent disruption in service caused by the work on the plant.
