11th-storey jumper still hospitalised

The 39-year-old murder suspect who took a flying leap out the 11th-storey window of the Riverside Plaza building, Port of Spain, to escape police is still warded in hospital under police guard, sources say.

The man was being questioned by police at Riverside Plaza where the Region 1 Homicide Bureau of Investigations is located as detectives continued their investigations into the murder of Donald Marcano, 35, who was killed in his Paramin home last Tuesday,

According to reports, at about 4 pm the suspect made a dash for a nearby window and jumped out.

He fell on a black Chevrolet Aveo car and survived.

Police took the man to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he is still warded in critical condition. Sources said he broke his his leg and arm in the fall.
